Russian cellular company Vympelcom announced beginning of commercial operation of its new dual-band GSM-900/1800 network. The company is one of the major mobile phone operators in the country. According to Vympelcom Vice Director Nikolay Pryanishnikov, its Bee Line GSM network currently has 303 base stations, covering Moscow city and the major part of Moscow region. On top of that, the new network provides roaming services in more than 20 regions of Russia and 49 countries worldwide. It was also announced that in July new Bee Line GSM subscribers will be activated free of charge, including those having their own handsets. Source: InfoArt News Agency
